“Humans of the Palestinian Diaspora” is a photography project that seeks to shed light on the experiences of Palestinians who have had to leave their homeland or whose families have been displaced. Through portrait photographs and capturing narratives, this project aims to showcase the diverse stories of resilience and advocacy within the Palestinian diaspora community.
The title of the project encapsulates the essence of the mission: to reclaim the humanity often stripped away from Palestinians and other communities in the Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region by Western and mainstream media narratives. By focusing on the individual stories, faces, and experiences of Palestinians living in the diaspora, this project aims to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions, fostering a deeper understanding of IDENTITY, which is something that shouldn’t have to be done in the first place, but sadly must be. Through this lens, this project seeks to contribute to a broader conversation about empathy and the urgent need for more accurate and inclusive representations.
